Apollo 11 was the spaceflight which landed the first humans, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Jr, on Earth's Moon on July 20, 1969, at 201739 UTC. The United States mission is considered the major accomplishment in the history of space exploration.
Launched from the Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39 in Merritt Island, Florida on July 16, Apollo 11 was the fifth manned mission, and the third lunar mission, of NASA's Apollo program. The crew consisted of Armstrong as Commander and Aldrin as Lunar Module Pilot, with Command Module Pilot Michael Collins. Armstrong and Aldrin landed in the Sea of Tranquility and became the first humans to walk on the Moon on July 21. Their Lunar Module, Eagle, spent 21 hours 31 minutes on the lunar surface, while Collins remained in orbit in the Command/Service Module, Columbia. The three astronauts returned to Earth on July 24, landing in the Pacific Ocean.
Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. The first steps by humans on another planetary body were taken by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. The astronauts also returned to Earth the first samples from another planetary body. Apollo 11 achieved its primary mission - to perform a manned lunar landing and return the mission safely to Earth - and paved the way for the Apollo lunar landing missions to follow.

Apart from a short introduction, this book is a transcript of the Apollo 11 flight to the moon covering mainly the audio between the Capcom and the spacecraft.Although this material (and more, there are deeper transcripts covering not just the main audio between the Capcom and spacecraft but also the flight directors comms etc.) is available free online, sometimes you don't have the luxury of an internet connection and therefore having this in book form is good.
This is for serious Apollo fans only. Given the transcripts are full of technical jargon and NASA-ese, you need a very good understanding of the Saturn V, and LM to make the most out of this.

Apollo 11 In Their Own Words John A Greene Reviews
If you want an accurate account of what wou are looas said between Houston and Apollo 11, this is it. If you are looking for a story, don't bother. These are transcripts. Good ones, but transcripts.
It a very boring book, unless you are a astronaut (there are hundred of pages of the transcriptions of every communication between the astronauts and mission control
I ordered this to use as a reference for a Social Studies project for grandson. It was very interesting and useful.
